It's starting to feel real

I just called the specialty pharmacy to order my first round of Clomid. I can't believe we are taking an actual REAL step to having our LO in our arms. I start another round of Prometrium on Saturday, so hopefully by the 18th I'll be starting the Clomid. woohooo!

I haven't updated in a bit, so here's what's gone on since my blood work....

I had my HyCoSy...and let me just say it SUCKED! Now, if you ever need one don't freak out because the reason it was so uncomfortable/painful was because they couldn't find my ovaries right away. Sooo what should have been a maximum of 8 minutes ended up being closer to a half hour, most of which was the internal ultrasound part. That u/s wand was moving in directions that are incredibly unnatural for that area of the body-sorry if that's tmi. If the procedure actually went according to plain it wouldn't have been bad at all. I did feel a strong menstrual cramp when the tube first entered my uterus, but other than that, I didn't feel any other cramping. Chris was with me and he was great. At one point he was squeezing my hand harder than I was squeezing his. He said he was trying to take my mind off of what was going on. He said it looked like the Dr. was driving a stick shift...only my husband would compare an IF procedure to something that has to do with cars. The results were great though....both tubes are clear...yippee!

Oh, and as far as Chris's SA goes, he's all good. His stats: 69million, 54% motility, 13%morphology. They said the morphology is supposed to be 15%, but they wouldn't be a concern unless it was 10% or less.

Blood is thicker than water. Well apparently my blood is thicker than most blood. I went for my blood work this morning and it took aver 2 minutes to get 4 vials. Half way through, the phlebotomist tells me that my blood is flowing really slowly. I asked her if that was a bad thing and she says, "No, but it's literally just dripping into the vial." Ugh, I quickly told her that as long as it wasn't a problem to just not tell me what was going on. At this point I was seriously feeling queezy. She couldn't tell me why my blood might be thicker than it is supposed to be, so I'm just going to try and not think about it. Anyway, almost done with all the preliminary tests before the Clomid cycles start. Chris is dropping off his "sample" bright and early tomorrow. So all that's left if my HyCoSy next week. Fun Fun! I can't wait to officially be a Clomid chick....although I hear the side effects can be not so exciting.

Prometrium did its thing!

It's been 17 days since I started taking Prometrium and AF started today. I don't think I've EVER been so happy to see her. It's only the 3rd day since my last dose, so YAY for not having to wait too long. Monday morning I'll go for bloodwork. Chris will be dropping off his swimmers this week too. I scheduled my appointment for the HyCoSy the following week, which is perfect timing because I'll be on April break. That way I won't have to take off part of a work day to have it done. I'm really excited that everything is moving along. Dr. L will go over all the test results at that appointment too. We'll definately know if the next cycle will be a Clomid cycle or not. The only thing that can prolong things is if I have to cancel the HyCoSy because AF hasn't stopped yet.

Try saying that 3 times fast!

Yesterday I called my Dr.'s office to see if this fallopian tube procedure is covered under our new insurance and THANK GOD it is. Otherwise we would be looking at a $1500 bill. Even better, since it's considered a diagnostic procedure, there isn't even a co-pay. Although I gladly would have paid it if there was. I also asked if they could tell me the exact name of the procedure and they said it's called a Hysterosalpingocontrastsonogram -- I asked the nurse to spell it...lol...and she said it's called a HyCoSy for short. I can't say that I'm totally looking forward to this at all. She said it is suppossed to be less painful/uncomfortable than the regular HSG. I will be taking 800mg of Mortin anyway! Not taking my chances with that. :o)

If you're keeping track of where we are in our ttc plan, I'm on day 9 of the Prometrium. Only 5 pills left after tonight's dose, then I await the lovely AF. Once she gets here, I will wait 2-3 days to get some bloodwork and Chris will drop off his swimmers to get tested. Woohoo!
